Hasan Ali claims four as Karachi Kings book Quetta Gladiators at 118

RAWALPINDI: Hasan Ali took four wickets, supported by other bowlers to help Karachi Kings bundle Quetta Gladiators at a meagre 118 in the 22nd match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 here at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Karachi Kings’ captain Shan Masood opted to bat first after winning the toss, and the decision bore fruits as Blessing Muzarabani removed Jason Roy (15) with 20 runs on the board.

Saud Shakeel and Khawaja Nafay knitted a 47-run stand for the second wicket in 36 balls before Hasan Ali picked his first wicket to send the former back to the pavilion.

Shakeel top-scored for Quetta Gladiators with promising innings of 33 runs off 28 balls, which featured two fours and two sixes.

Ali struck again in the same over to remove Nafay (17) and opened the floodgates as Quetta Gladiators failed to recover after this double-wicket over.

After that, captain Rilee Rossouw played a cautious knock of 10 runs from 16 balls, while Akeal Hosein smashed a six during his 14-run cameo in 13 balls.

No other batter could provide resistance against tight bowling by Karachi Kings bowlers as Quetta Gladiators were booked at 118 in the last over after being 65-1 at one point.

Hasan Ali led the bowling attack for Karachi Kings with figures of 4-15, while Muzarabani and Zahid Mahmood bagged two wickets each.
