CAPE TOWN: In a goodwill gesture, Pakistan and India women’s teams engaged with each other in a warm get-together and exchanged team jerseys following the high-voltage clash between the two sides in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
On Sunday, India beat arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets in a Group B fixture of the megaevent at Newland Cricket Ground, thanks to a gritty half-century by Jemimah Rodrigues.
After the conclusion of the match, the on-field rivalry was pushed to a back burner and the players from both sides meet each other in high spirits.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder Nida Dar also exchanged shirts with each other during the meetup.
